Looking Back.... Harpenden Highland Gathering
Nannies 4 Grannies was proud to support the Harpenden Lions Club
Highland Gathering on Sunday 8 July. The Lions Club is a service
organisation providing help and assistance to those in Harpenden,
Redbourn, Wheathampstead and beyond.
Nannies 4 Grannies welcomed….
Jane and Julie to the N4G team.
Jane worked for many years as a PA to the VP of an international oil
company. She lives in Harpenden with her husband and son and enjoys
gardening, doing Pilates, reading and is involved with her son’s school.
Julie has many years’ experience working in a Care Home and as a
personal assistant looking after elderly clients in their own homes. She
has a dog and loves to go on walking holidays to the Lake District or
Dorset and Devon.
We were also pleased to welcome 6 new clients from St Albans, Radlett,
Hemel Hempstead, Harpenden, Redbourn and Wheathampstead.
In History….

the steps of Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on 28/8/1963.

On 1/9/1985 the wreckage of RMS Titanic was found lying upright in two pieces on the ocean floor about 350 miles S.E. of Newfoundland, Canada - almost 75 years after it sank.

Adjusting to the arrival of carers in your home can be a challenge for the whole family – but it’s not one that you face alone.
We know you don’t particularly want to be in the position of needing
care in your home and that you don’t want to have to look outside of
the family for assistance. We also know that the reason you are inviting
us into your home is because you choose to stay at home, where you
can live in your own way. We know it’s a privilege to be invited into
your family life and we never forget that your home is your castle. Are we staff? Visitors? Friends? Its
perfectly normal for this relationship to feel unfamiliar in the beginning. It’s your home so you make the
rules. Open and early communication is at the heart of a smooth home care experience. If you like a
quiet house – let us know. If you love dogs but hate shoes in the house – let us know. If it’s a family ritual
to never miss Antiques Roadshow – then this is important. It’s our role to fit in around you – not the
other way around.
“Strangers are just family you have yet to come to know”. Mitch Albom, author.
